Venue Description
A beautiful, easily accessible 18th century New Town church, which hosts a variety of musical performances – from soloists to choirs, instrumentalists to small orchestras and bands in all musical genres: classical, folk, jazz, songs from the shows, opera, world music. Enjoy light lunches and snacks in the Undercroft cafe, or sit and admire the delightful Georgian interior.
This venue is signed up to the Best Practice Code.
What makes this venue special?
Administration can be undertaken for performers, including production of a programme.. There is an excellent well-maintained piano and a flexible performing space. Theatre lighting is available to supplement existing, flexible church lighting. All performances are included in the venue brochure which has a distribution of 6,000. Front of house staff are provided.
Venue Programming
Musical events of any sort - solo performances, small groups and choirs, small opera companies. Classical, folk, opera, songs from the shows, world music, jazz. We can also host events involving the spoken word eg poetry readings or book discussions.

Viewing Details
The venue is open 10.30am to 2pm Monday to Friday all the year round. As it is an active church, it is also open for services 8.30am to 12.30pm in Sundays.

An oval church with 140 moveable and 210 fixed seats.
Technical Details
- Type of stage: Raised
- Lighting: 12 theatre lights are hired in and positioned in the gallery, 8 on a gantry in front of the performing area and 2 on a stand at each side. Performers will need to provide their own lighting technicians if other than a steady state is required.
- Sound: 2 radio mikes and a lectern mike are available, but performers are advised to provide their own sound systems if required.
- Storage: Some storage space is available in the gallery if required.
- Dressing Space: A large room is available for performers as green room

- Additional Disabled Access Details: There is a portable ramp to negotiate the steps at the main entrance. There are also side entrances which are level with the performing space.
