Venue Description
Set just up from the Royal Mile and over the years some familiar faces such as Dame Maggie Smith and Stephen Fry have graced the stages in this venue make it a wee bit special. With four spaces, a bar and beautiful courtyard seating, Greenside @ Riddles Court is the perfect addition to our Green family.
What makes this venue special?
Riddles Court is an incredible listed building with over 400 years of History – if only the walls could talk! In 1751 a state Banquet was held attended by no other than King James V1. It’ll come as no surprise that the building also has a rich Fringe history.

Our biggest end on Theatre space. Set on the ground floor of Riddles Court is the beautiful 100 seat Thistle Theatre Theatre.

- Lighting: Lighting Control: Strand 100 or equivalent Lighting Dimming: All lighting in this venue is LED, therefore we have no in house dimmers. Hard power can be provided. (Companies providing extra equipment will also need to provide any cabling required) • The venue has a good general cover and LED backlight as part of the venue’s basic lighting rig. • It is not possible to refocus or re-gel in between show. As the generic rig is used and relied upon by all shows, re-focusing of the generic rig is not possible under any circumstances. (except for designated fixtures)
- Sound: Mixing and Processing: Mackie DFX6 Mixing Console or equivalent Loudspeakers and Amps:Pickle Studio has a Fohhn system – its configuration is in two hangs, left & right, made of Fohhn AT-05. Playback and Recording: 1 x stereo minijack input. (Greenside does not provide any Playback computers, laptops, microphones, DI boxes, mic stands or cable as part of the standard venue package)
