Step into a bygone era in this Fringe venue in the heart of Edinburgh’s New Town. A hidden gem tucked away in the basement of the Royal Scots Club, the Speakeasy brings you an intimate 1920s atmosphere mixed with an exciting and diverse programme of shows, lectures and events.
What makes this venue special?
Our unusual venue boasts a capacity of 70-120, intimate cabaret seating, a raised stage and is fully air conditioned. The team behind The Speakeasy are Edinburgh-based and with our decades of Fringe experience, we can help with first-time Fringe questions, marketing support and opportunities for show previews, along with other assistance should you require it.
Venue Programming
Due to the relatively small stage and limited lighting offer, the space is most suitable for cabaret, comedy, storytelling, music and small-scale or site-specific theatre. It is not suitable for large cast or technically-heavy productions. We are keen to create a diverse and exciting programme and are very happy to discuss individual requirements.
